Jacob Armstrong brings over 25 years of experience in asset management, including more than two decades dedicated to insurance asset management. He currently leads Franklin Templeton's global Insurance Strategic and Corporate Development initiatives, partnering closely with regional insurance leaders and the firm's Treasury team to drive strategic growth and innovation across the insurance sector.
Since joining Franklin Templeton in 2016 as Head of the U.S. Insurance Business, Mr. Armstrong has played a key role in expanding the firm's insurance capabilities and partnerships. Today, Franklin Templeton manages approximately $162 billion in insurance assets globally, offering deep expertise across life, health, property & casualty, and reinsurance segments under a variety of regulatory frameworks.
Prior to Franklin Templeton, Mr. Armstrong held senior roles at J.P. Morgan, where he focused on asset management solutions for insurance clients. He is a former Board Member of both the Insured Retirement Institute and the Alliance for Lifetime Income, two leading insurance industry organizations based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Armstrong earned his Bachelor's degree from California State University and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
