Derek Taner, CFA

Derek M. Taner is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Research Analyst for Templeton Global Investments. Portfolio management responsibilities include the balanced strategies and research analyst responsibilities include global health care.

Derek has 35 years of industry experience with 20 of those at Franklin Templeton.

Prior to joining Templeton in April 2019 Mr. Taner was a portfolio manager/analyst at Invesco, and a portfolio manager/analyst at Franklin Advisors. He has 20+ years of experience as a lead portfolio manager across a variety of strategies including global health care, long/short health care, and equity income funds. Previous research coverage has included health care, consumer, utilities, industrials, and technology. He entered the financial services industry in 1991.

Mr. Taner holds B.S. in business administration and a M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkley. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
