Bowei (Sam) Li, Ph.D.

Sam is a Portfolio Manager on the Australian Active Insights Strategy at ClearBridge Investments.

He joined the firm in 2021 and has 7 years of investment industry experience.

Sam was a Portfolio Manager, and previously a Quantitative Analyst at Martin Currie, which became part of ClearBridge in 2025. Prior to this, he was a Quantitative Developer at Frontier and a Quantitative Analyst at National Bank of Australia.

Sam received a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Commerce in quantitative finance from the University of Sydney, and a B.S in mathematics and statistics from Northeast Normal University. He is also a member of the CFA Institute and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
