Aaron Shapley, CAIA, CIMA

Aaron Shapley, CAIA, CIMA, is a senior vice president, National Sales & Strategic Accounts director in the Insurance & Subadvisory group. This team is responsible for Franklin Templeton's strategic partnerships with insurance companies and other financial institutions. In his role, Mr. Shapley leads Franklin's dedicated insurance sales team as well as manages the relationships with the firm's strategic life insurance company clients.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2017, Mr. Shapley worked at Dimensional Fund Advisors as a Regional Director and Relationship Manager on the Subadvisory Services team within the Global Institutional Business where he developed and maintained relationships with U.S. life insurers and other financial institutions. Mr. Shapley also spent 8 years at BlackRock as a Director within the Financial Institutions Group managing the firm's strategic relationships with U.S. life insurance companies. Additionally, he has held relationship management and business development roles at Multi-Financial Securities, Charles Schwab, and Morgan Stanley and has over 20 years of financial services industry experience.

Mr. Shapley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Management (CAIA) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designations. Aaron currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and two children. In between work and his children's sports and activities, he trains for and competes in triathlons of all distances.
