Investment Challenge
Increasingly, investors are looking for portfolios that fall in-line with their core beliefs. Monitoring this trend, an investment platform in the region wanted to introduce a fund that focused on women leadership. They turned to Franklin Templeton to see if we could create a new strategy that took advantage of this theme.
But with no competitor also came no roadmap. Could we collaborate across the firm to design, from the ground up, and get to market quickly, a systematic portfolio of companies that value women leaders, adhere to data privacy issues, advocate for employee health and safety, have respected labor management processes, and more?
Investment Solution
We gathered the broad FTIS resources needed to successfully design and launch a fund focused on women leadership and ESG. We called upon the systemic strategy team to build a unique portfolio that drew from their extensive quantitative equity and ESG research. The team designed a US Equity strategy that required every company have either robust representation of women in leadership or demonstrate strong ESG scores.
Client Success
Our proactive approach and strong relationships within local markets allowed the investment platform to find the right partner to introduce a fund that was the first of its type to be launched in the country: a creative market leading solution within a socially responsible framework.
